Riot Fest Cancels Suburbs, Moves Back To Douglass Park

Riot Fest announced Wednesday afternoon that they were going to be returning to Douglass Park, rather than adventuring out into the suburbs of Chicago in Bridgeview.

The announcement was shared on their Instagram page. So far, there are mixed emotions with some cheering the uno-reverse option, while others are speaking out on having canceled their previous lodging to accommodate the change, and now will have to change back their lodging.

Riot Fest has also announced that they have put in place a “bring a friend” option, in which you can bring a friend to Riot Fest and receive 20% off your ticket and their ticket.

The Riot Fest schedule will be coming your way tomorrow at 10am CDT. See the announcement below:

In a statement shared by CBS News, “We’re not just coming home—we’re coming back passionately, with an even greater purpose and doubling down on our commitment to Chicago, our fans, and our community. Riot Fest was born and bred here; it’s where we belong,” says Riot Fest founder Michael “Riot Mike” Petryshyn.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, it has only been 2 months since the announcement was made to move to Bridgeview. They also stated “As required in years past, 10 percent of revenue from Riot Fest will be reinvested in Douglass Park under the auspices of the park district’s enhancement fund. The 2024 festival is expected to generate roughly $712,000 for the fund, which will coordinate capital improvement projects for the site with input from the community.”
