PHOTOS: Halestorm at Upheaval Festival 2023

Halestorm opened the show at Upheaval Festival in Grand Rapids with Lzzy Hale vocalizing “I’M BACK” in her signature growl that has so much power it knocks you off your feet.

With Lzzy’s little brother Arejay Hale on drums, they kicked it into high gear for the festival goers that were completely entranced by the sounds. Playing some of their best work including “I Get Off,” “Love Bites,” and “I Miss The Misery” to warm up the crowd, Lzzy commanded the stage, and showed why she’s one of the greatest voices in rock music today.

Lzzy also took a moment and interjected “Crazy On You” from Heart into the tail end of “I Get Off,” which was wild to witness a few feet from our faces and lenses. Some fans even went as far as to say on the comments after the festival online that Lzzy brought them to tears during the set with how amazing her voice is and all the registers she can hit. Now that’s true power, getting someone to cry at a harder rock festival.
