
State Champs, Knuckle Puck, Meet Me @ The Altar, & Daisy Grenade Rock The Majestic
The Majestic Theatre in Detroit was the place to be on Friday, November 22nd, 2024 as State Champs rocked away the early winter blues in support of their self-titled fifth studio album. The energy was electric from the moment the doors opened, thanks in part to the stacked lineup this tour was boasting.
DAISY GRENADE
Daisy Grenade was the first one on stage, getting the crowd moving right away with their catchy, upbeat songs like “Sick in the City” and “Hypocrite.” They were a great choice to kick off the show and got everyone excited for what was to come.
MEET ME @ THE ALTAR
Meet Me @ The Alter kept the party going with their own distinctive style. They performed songs such as “Now or Never” and the female empowerment anthem, “Hit Like A Girl.” Their mashup cover featuring “Sweetness” by Jimmy Eat World, “My Friends Over You” by New Found Glory, and “My Own Worst Enemy” by Lit was a definite highlight.
KNUCKLE PUCK
The final opener, Knuckle Puck, brought a more aggressive edge to the stage with their songs “Want Me Around” and “Disdain.” They upped the energy by getting the crowd moshing and crowd-surfing. Frontman Joe Taylor, was jumping around the stage like a madman, interacting and entertaining the audience.
STATE CHAMPS
When State Champs finally took the stage, they were met with thunderous applause from the eager crowd. The band didn’t disappoint, launching into a set that spanned their entire discography. Fans were thrilled to hear classics like “Losing Myself,” “Outta My Head” and “Elevated.” It was clear that every audience member knew all the words to every song, creating a sense of community and camaraderie. One of the highlights of the band’s set was the inclusion of seven songs from their latest album. The lead single “Silver Cloud” was particularly well-received, as was the catchy “Save Face Story.” As the night went on, the energy in the room only continued to build. The band closed the show with a two-song encore featuring “Everybody but You” and their sensational hit “Secrets.”
Overall, State Champs put on an incredible show that showcased their continued evolution as a band. Their infectious energy and irresistible pop-punk ballads make them a must-see live act, and it’s easy to see why they’ve garnered such a loyal following.
