Dave Matthews Band: Deep Cuts and Die Hards at Pine Knob
Dave Matthews Band packed the house at Pine Knob Music Theatre on Wednesday, June 26 to perform some of their best deep cuts for their rabid fans.
If you have followed Dave Matthews Band for some time, you know that their fanbase is dedicated. When the group took the stage, fans in the front row immediately began yelling out song titles like “Drunken Soldier,” which was played later in the setlist.
They kicked off their performance with “Pantala Naga Pampa,” followed by “Granny.” A few covers graced the setlist, including songs by David Bowie, Bob Dylan, and Pearl Jam – which had to be a delight for fans, as some of those tracks do not appear on DMB live albums.
It’s interesting to see what songs get picked for a Dave Matthews Band setlist, because rather than play an array of hits, you catch that some of the songs are from the albums that do have charting songs, but Dave and the crew choose to bring out some songs that only the die-hard fans will know and love. Still, he couldn’t resist slipping in songs like “Crush” or “So Damn Lucky” from his solo album.
