Chief Keef Dominates Fillmore Detroit After 2 Year Dryspell

Chicago native and drill music pioneer, Chief Keef brought Detroit an unforgettable night of hyped-up hits for his first time back in the city in almost two years. 

 

 

As a teenager during the “SoundCloud era,” Chief Keef was a name well known to me, my friends, and everyone at every party I attended. Before that, Keef rose to fame by uploading songs on YouTube and mixtape-sharing platforms like DatPiff in the early 2010s. 

 

 

Chief Keef is still pulling his weight in the hip-hop scene today, bringing in 15 million monthly listeners on Spotify and packing out venues, much like he did at The Fillmore on Monday, September 14. 

 

 

 

 

 

Starting the night off with “Bitch Where” and “Bang”, he then continued on, treating fans to early career hits like “Love Sosa”, “Understand Me”, and “I Hate Bein’ Sober” that left every person in the building going absolutely insane. Wrapping it up with other known classics like “Faneto” and “Kills”, plus a special guest appearance from Michigan’s own Rio Da Yung OG; Keef put on a show that fans definitely will be talking about for weeks to come. 

 

 

Chief Keef continues on his tour throughout September and October around the United States, with his big homecoming show in Chicago scheduled to take place on September 23rd.
