Alt-Pop Starlet Ella Boh Brings the Heat to The Pike Room with “The Blurry Tour”
The forecast may have been rainy and cloudy the entire day on October 1, 2026 in Metro Detroit, but The Pike Room at The Crofoot was on fire when Psylosia and Ella Boh made it to town for “The Blurry Tour.” The historic venue on the top floor filled quickly with VIP around 6, which felt like an endless line of teenagers rushing to see one of their favorite up-and-coming pop sensations. By 7 pm, there was no room to move and no air circulating through the open windows to the outside rain and humidity, but there was an extremely excited crowd waiting patiently with friends, ready for the two highly anticipated acts to take the stage.
PSYLOSIA
Having never heard of “Psylosia” until last evening, I was impressed with her ethereal presence and voice. The young teens at the barricade were in awe of the pink-purple gown, pink jewelry, and body glitter and couldn’t help but scream how beautiful Psylosia was. As soon as the dreamy backer track began and she lifted the pink microphone, her powerful voice immediately filled the 200-person capacity venue with smooth sounds and hypnotizing vocals and rhythms. The jaws dropped, and phones came out to capture what was before them on stage, setting the tone for the evening. Her performance and music were out of this world, and Psylosia wowed the crowd and made sure to interact with the front row as much as possible, completing finger hearts and smiling.
ELLA BOH
Following Psylosia’s beautiful set, the screams and phones made an appearance as the guitarist and drummer for Ella Boh took the stage, making way for a loud and excitable entrance by Ella herself. The room of concert attendees were waving their hands, hoping to make contact with her in the intimate venue. Parents and chaperones hugged the back wall, happy to accompany their daughters to see their favorite artist on her first headline tour. Ella Boh slowly made way to the stage in all black, lace fingerless gloves, endless alt jewelry, a windbreaker jacket, wide legged black pants and large sunglasses, seeming to take ownership of “the Pike Room” that Thursday evening.
Having been to many concerts, I had never seen the number of phones recording as I did the moment Ella began to grab the microphone and begin her set. The crowd was determined to be able to relive last night again and again through video. Quickly shedding the sunglasses and revealing her piercing light eyes in heavy eyeliner, she had the crowd in a trance the moment her soft and haunting voice began singing “Blurry” (the title track of her most recent EP and namesake for the tour). The rain was pouring outside, but she had the entire room on fire with excitement for her extensive setlist of alt-pop bangers that had the room singing along at the top of their lungs. They might not have been able to match her vocal range, but their knowledge of all of the lyrics to all of the songs and the dedication to singing them back was a sight to behold.
For so many of the girls at the barricade, this was a dream concert, and they had clearly been manifesting this experience for a long time, likely repeat-streaming Ella Boh’s impressive discography since they first discovered her unique and entrancing sound. Her entire vibe was fun and exciting, a haunting journey with songs such as “Bloody Mary,” “Starlet,” “Baby Doll,” “Ur GF,” “Milk and Honey,” and so many more that were likely to leave her fans satisfied as the night ended.
Ella’s performance on that stage was incredible, and such a positive experience. She tried to interact with so many of her fans, sang directly to them, climbed the barricade to be grabbed by handsy fans, only to never miss a beat. The Pike Room in Pontiac was filled to the brim with so many happy teenagers and supportive parents; it brings you back to when you first attended your first concerts of artists you absolutely adored and sang along to on the car ride to school or jumped around your bedroom to. The entire headline set that Thursday night was for sure an evening everyone present was sure to remember and talk about for weeks to come. There are so many stops left to see both Ella Boh and Psylosia on “The Blurry Tour,” and I highly recommend you check them both out and stream their music!
