Portugal. The Man & Snacktime Elevate Winter Blues in Royal Oak

On Friday, February 16th, 2024, Portugal. The Man brought their lively and uplifting show to the sold-out Royal Oak Music Theatre in Michigan. The band is one to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone at their shows by promoting powerful messages of kindness and acceptance.





The night kicked off with a dynamic performance by the seven-piece band SNACKTIME, who brought a crazy blend of soul, funk, punk, jazz, and hip-hop to the stage. With a diverse range of musical influences and a lineup that included a trombone and a tuba, SNACKTIME set the stage for a truly unique opening performance. They played some of their popular tracks like “SWEETTREAT”, “BEAN SKIN”, and “SNACKMFTIME”, and left the crowd wanting more.






As Portugal. The Man took the stage, they captivated the audience with a seamless melody of their songs “Heavy Games”, “Bellies Are Full”, and a surprise cover of Yes’s “Heart of the Sunrise”. SNACKTIME even joined Portugal. The Man onstage, becoming a part of their live band and bringing their own instruments to the party. They showcased their latest album, “Chris Black Changed My Life”, with performances of “Ghost Town”, “Summer of Luv”, and “Champ”. They also played fan favorites from their hit album “Woodstock”, such as “So Young”, “Live in the Moment”, and their chart-topping hit “Feel It Still”.



The whole band was at the top of their game despite lead singer John Gourley confessing to feeling under the weather. He powered through the show, and the band delivered a fantastic performance that showcased their talent and dedication to their fans. The audience sang along and danced to the band’s contiguous energy, creating a sense of community and shared experience.
