PHOTOS: Trump/Elon Protest Outside of Tesla West Bloomfield
On March 6, two groups blended into one at Tesla’s West Bloomfield Dealership for another installment of a sidewalk protest.
The original group that we reported on previously has committed to being at the location every Thursday from 4PM to 6PM, but then this particular week, the group called Indivisble set their meeting time between 5PM to 6:30 PM at the same location.
Protestors stood in the median on Orchard Lake Road, as well as the sidewalk directly in front of the Tesla dealership along with their signs, and many walked up and down the sidewalk to keep the protest moving. Some signs included slogans like “Nobody voted for Elon Musk” to “Boycott Swasticars” mimicking the Tesla font.
According to some of the protestors, a representative of the Detroit Free Press may have been on site. As this fight seems to be for the long haul, we applaud larger outlets that are heading out to cover these events, as many have not across the U.S., making it seem as if nobody is protesting.
At the protest in Southwest Detroit on March 4, we saw representatives from Local 4 WDIV and a Detroit Free Press photographer. We’re hoping that as time goes on and at larger events, like Saturday’s March on International Women’s Day (which starts at 10 AM at the Detroit Institute of Arts), the press will be out in force to prove that people do not want what we’re currently being served.
