Paramore: New Single “C’est Comme Ça” Is Here

This direction Paramore has gone for their upcoming album is absolutely wild, and there are no classifiable words to describe it other than AWESOME.

The third track of ‘This Is Why’ (which is scheduled to release on February 10) is called “C’est Comme Ça.” The song’s overall theme leans into the Pandemic ick, the move toward self-help, that feeling of getting old (maybe that’s just my elder millennial talking), and the attraction of disorder.

When the band posted the teaser image on social media, one comment, in particular, stood out. Fans were asking what “C’est Comme Ça” means, and one responded “It’s basically French for ‘It do be like that sometimes.'” Which, sort of? (We’re laughing!)

Some notations say it stands for something similar to “That’s just the way it is,” but there are also other searches that come with the term “neither good nor bad” or “so-so.”

THE LYRICS

Hayley and Co. came with the lyrics! There are definitely some gems in here that are going to be Instagram captions and TikTok videos for people, let me tell you.

Some of the highlights include:

“In a single year, I’ve aged 100. My social life? A chiropractic appointment.”

“I’m off caffeine on doctor’s orders. Said it was gonna help to level out my hormones.”

“Lucky for me I run on spite and sweet revenge…”

“I know that regression is rarely rewarded, I still need a certain degree of disorder.”

“I hate to admit getting better is boring, but the high cost of chaos, who can afford it?”

THE SOUND

The funky bassline in the song also creates a full-on dance party vibe, which honestly, is absolutely perfect when dealing with this type of subject matter.

It’s hard to describe it overall, but it somehow has multiple elements that would have had this song fit in next to Franz Ferdinand track or a 70’s song, but still sounds modern at the same time. Either way, it’s killer. Like every release so far, it’s exceeded our expectations.
