Paramore Changes Lives With Stellar Set At LCA
Paramore was met with an enthusiastically wild crowd for their set at Little Caesars Arena on June 7 in Detroit, Michigan. The fans came correct, knew every lyric, every dance step, and helped even set the ambiance with cell phone lights — which Hayley Williams, frontwoman of Paramore, absolutely loved.
I joked after I left that I felt like I’d just been to church. Something about watching this band and how much they love their fans was such a rejuvenating feeling, even in the upper bowl. As a fan (who intentionally overdrafted her bank account for a last-minute ticket), it was also so heartwarming to watch the slews of best friends at the show, singing at the top of their lungs, screaming when their favorites came on, and knowing every word.
With a band that has such an expanded catalog, it’s only telling what might make it onto the setlist. Unfortunately, the fan favorite “All I Wanted” seems to be more of a large festival staple rather than the localized touring set, but that didn’t stop the party at all, engaging in some favorites from ‘After Laughter’ in the more upbeat tempo range.
While this tour is in support of their newest album ‘This Is Why,’ one of their singles titled “C’est Comme Ça” was missing, yet we got “You First,” “Big Man, Little Dignity” and “Crave” so we can’t complain.
