Macklemore Takes Us Back With The ‘Ben’ Tour At Fillmore Detroit
Multi-diamond certified, GRAMMY® award-winning artist Macklemore stopped by The Fillmore in Detroit this week with The ‘Ben’ Tour, supporting his album with the same name.
The only opener of the show was Macklemore’s DJ Beeba who played a melody of mostly 2000’s hits that got the crowd on their feet and singing along. Macklemore came out on stage showing some love for the city rocking a Detroit Lions jersey.
The “Thrift Shop” artist started the show off with his new single “Chant,” off of his latest album ‘Ben’. Before his second song started he was talking to the sold-out show and played a little joke on the crowd. He said he had a very special guest… EMINEM. Everyone in the theater started screaming until he broke the news he was just joking and that he’d never met the “Rap God.”
The second song is what really kicked off the show for me though. When I heard the first “What What” I knew that this whole crowd was about to lose their minds! “Thrift Shop” brings me right back to when I was in high school going to see him at The Palace.
After all of these years, Macklemore still has it and he made it clear that he’s not going anywhere anytime soon!
