Jack Johnson Turns Pine Knob Upside Down
Jack Johnson brought his ‘Surfilmusic’ Tour to Pine Knob Music Theatre on July 10, 2026, with support from Hermanos Gutiérrez . Kids in banana costumes, as well as the Man in the Yellow Hat, all the way to fans who have been listening to Jack Johnson since his first release in 2002, showed up for an amazing night.
The tour has the same name as his documentary, which was released on June 5, and chronicles his “journey from surfer to filmmaker to world-renowned musician through rare archives and present-day reflections on how experience, friendship, and exploration shaped his sound and stories.”
Hermanos Gutiérrez kicked off the evening, showcasing their stellar licks before Jack Johnson and his band came to the stage. The setlist had hits from every Jack Johnson record, starting with “Mudfootball,” “Flake/In Summertime” and “You and Your Heart.”
Hermanos Gutiérrez re-emerged during songs 10-17 to play with Jack and the rest of the band, which included “Sitting, Waiting, Wishing,” “Hold On to the Light,” “Time to Think,” and “Low Sun.”
Set 3 included some of the lighthearted bangers like “Banana Pancakes,” “Upside Down,” before closing the night and act 4 acoustically, covering Jimmy Buffett’s “A Pirate Looks at Forty” and finally, “Better Together.”
