Carrie Underwood Unnecessarily Butchers Limp Bizkit Cover

Is Carrie Underwood saying, “How do you do, fellow kids?” Is she trying to appeal to a new audience? Did she see Kelly Clarkson, the OG American Idol star, cover “Golden,” and think she should try her own had at Kelly-oke?

Whatever the reason (I would like to think her PR person is smarter than that), Carrie Underwood decided to “pay tribute?” to Limp Bizkit by donning a red hat (fitting for her political affiliation), and performed “Break Stuff” from the 1999 LB album ‘Significant Other.’

As expected, she’s being roasted on social media, with one person going as far as to say, “The Kid Rock-ification of Carrie Underwood continues,” as fans turn the other cheek on the “Before He Cheats” crooner.

It wasn’t the only Nu-Metal adjacent cover she performed at Iowa’s Velocity Festival, adding to the mix Papa Roach’s 2004 track, “Scars,” as well as Linkin Park’s “One Step Closer.” While we’d say we were fully surprised that the 7-time CMA winner was into this type of music, being chronically online has it’s advantages. Carrie Underwood was pictured with Metalcore band I Prevail back in 2023.
