Bayside Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Majestic Detroit Tour Stop

Punk rock band Bayside delivered a marvelous performance at Detroit’s Majestic Theatre, celebrating their 25th anniversary. The cleverly titled ‘Errors Tour,’ a play on Taylor Swift’s popular ‘Eras Tour,’ has the band showcasing songs from their entire discography.

 

 

The band plays two dates at every stop with different sets each night. The first night was billed as songs from older albums like ‘Sirens and Condolences,’ ‘Bayside (Self-Titled),’ ‘The Walking Wounded’ and ‘Shudder.’ Night two featured the newer releases from ‘Killing Time,’ ‘Cult,’ ‘Vacancy,’ ‘Interrobang’ and ‘There Are Worse Things Than Being Alive.’ As first-night attendees, we witnessed Bayside’s celebration of their early albums.

During the tour’s first leg, Chicago-based punk rockers Sincere Engineer kicked off the shows. Led by the incredibly talented Deanna Belos, the band put on an impressive set and demonstrated their exceptional stage presence. They played songs such as “Corn Dog Sonnet No. 7,” “Fireplace,” and “Coming in Last.” They closed out their set with their popular anthem “Trust Me,” which left a lasting impression on the crowd.

 

 

 

 

 

 

BAYSIDE

 

 

 

 

Bayside came out swinging with “Montauk” to get the crowd pumped. Some members of the audience even freaked out when certain deep cuts were played like “(Pop)Ular SciencE” and “Kellum.” The band’s energy was palpable throughout the whole night. Each member was on their A-game, hitting every note and moving around the stage in perfect harmony. 

 

 

The band returned for a three-song encore that consisted of “Landing Feet First,” “Blame It on Bad Luck,” and the fan favorite “Devotion and Desire.” It was truly a special night of music, and Bayside proved that they still have what it takes to captivate an audience.
