Rx Bandits Celebrate 20 Years of …And The Battle Begun in Detroit

Rx Bandits rolled through Detroit on Friday July 24th to celebrate their 20th anniversary of ‘…And The Battle Begun.’ The historic Saint Andrew’s Hall was the perfect venue to host this show, which promised a unique blend of Rock, Reggae and Ska.

 

 

Catbite started the night off with a bang. With Brittany Luna as their electrifying leading lady, the band put on one hell of a set. Their set included tracks such as “Die In Denver,” “Scratch Me Up,” and “Bad Influence.” It’s good to know that ska is still a genre that gets the crowd dancing.

 

 

 

 

 

Rx Bandits came on shortly after Catbite’s set wrapped up. They began the show with the ‘…And The Battle Begun’ opening track, “Untitled.” They played the whole album in full with fans screaming back the lyrics right on cue. The highlights included “Only For The Night” and “Apparition.” After they concluded the album play-through, they made their way back onstage for a four-song encore. They even brought out Brittany from Catbite to do a cover of “Gangsters” from The Specials. The crowd was completely mystified when they ended their set with Infection.

 

 

 

 

 

 

By the time the house lights came up, Rx Bandits proved that they know how to put on a masterclass of a show. Even though 20 years have passed since …And The Battle Begun was released, it still remains an absolute triumph.
