Black Veil Brides Bring Stacked Tour to Fillmore Detroit
On a sweltering Sunday, May 17, the goth and goth-adjacent Glam-Metal-loving population descended on The Fillmore Detroit for a lineup consisting of a mixed bag of artists, fronted by Black Veil Brides. Joining BVB were From Ashes To New, TX2, and As December Falls — each with their own unique genre bend, yet still fitting together for a night out.
AS DECEMBER FALLS

We saw As December Falls in viral reels from across the pond before, but we didn’t expect to see them on this lineup! Self-described on Instagram as “Emo rock from Nottingham,” the band powered through an entire set with charisma oozing off frontwoman Bethany Curtis aka Bethany Smile.
We definitely need to add this band to the Emo lexicon, because we need more chicks in Emo. Period. Check out some of their banger tracks, including “I Don’t Feel Like Feeling Great,” “Teeth,” and “Therapy.”
TX2
TX2 is a band that popped up for many on TikTok in a viral way and progressed into what it is today in real time. Timothy Evan Thomas commands the stage fronting the band, wearing a skirt and knee pads to slide across the grate risers on stage. The energy, along with shouting out that “Trans Rights are human rights,” made this band easy to jam to, even if you’d not experienced them before.
The focus tracks for this set to do further research? “HOSTAGE (they will not erase us),” “MAD,” and “I Would Hate Me Too.”
FROM ASHES TO NEW
No hate to Black Veil Brides, but From Ashes To New stole the show for me. The energy of co-vocalists Matt and Danny, the mystery of Lance behind his mask, and both Jimmy and Matt holding down all the rhythm.
During their set, they notified the crowd that they finally got their first number 1 on the charts, and gave encouragement to the artists and creators in the world to keep going even when it gets hard.
Their 8-song set included tracks like “Drag Me,” “Die For You,” and “Panic.”
BLACK VEIL BRIDES
The crowd finally livened up as Black Veil Brides took the stage. The band walked out, creating an ambiance before being joined by Andy Black, the frontman (and who I’m convinced is a vampire because he hasn’t aged).
Performing songs from across their catalog, the band let fans immerse themselves in the lyrical content and live sound of songs like “Coffin,” “Bleeder,” and “Perfect Weapon,” in addition to 15 other tracks on the setlist. They closed out the show with a 3-song encore of “Lost It All,” “Fallen Angels,” and “In The End.”
Black Veil Brides continue on the road for a minute, so if you missed them, check to see where to catch them next at blackveilbrides.net/#tour.
