Movement Festival Drops Teaser Lineup For 2023

Movement Festival, presented by Paxahau, has released a sneak peek of their 2023 lineup, including 2 headlining slots in the form of electronic music legends Underworld, and Belgian Techno star Charlotte de Witte.

In Detroit, we call it Techno Christmas. The best time of the year to hear electronic music from massive headlining DJs to local support ready to take their careers to the next level. The lineup is always diverse, and usually also includes a couple rap showcases throughout the event, another Detroit Staple.

In recent years, the festival has also embraced Cannabis Culture in the form of sponsorships and non-consuming activations on-site, which has become a big thing for Michigan events.

According to the press release:

“Music fans will once again descend upon Detroit, the mecca of Techno music, and be treated to three days of diverse curation on Memorial Day Weekend (May 27-29, 2023) inside Hart Plaza at downtown Detroit’s riverfront. Today’s lineup teaser offers a taste of the festival’s wide-range in programming, featuring an inspired selection of dance music’s most in-demand artists, underground mainstays, and notable first-time performers; a potent cross section of seasoned vets and future generations of electronic music.

Notable first-time performers include: Swedish-born producer DJ Seinfeld; UK’s breakout dance music producer TSHA; Brooklyn-based electronic music producer and vocalist Ela Minus; Italian Techno live artist Giorgia Angiuli; Philadelphia-born, Berlin-based producer LSDXOXO; as well as Berlin-based Techno producer and DJ SPFDJ.

Today’s announcement also features the enigmatic House legend and Detroit favorite Moodymann returning for his first performance at the festival in 10 years (last performance was in 2013); acclaimed Canadian electronic music producer and writer Caribou; New York House music icons Louie Vega and Kenny Dope as Masters At Work; Detroit Techno pioneers Robert Hood (live) and Carl Craig; Chicago House luminary Green Velvet; Detroit’s ‘first lady of wax’ DJ Minx; renowned UK Techno producer Surgeon; and a House-heavy b2b set from Australian producer Dom Dolla and breakout Chicago House star John Summit. Full lineup teaser can be found below with more names to be announced soon on Movement’s official website and social media channels.”
