3 Doors Down, Candlebox Celebrate Their Legacies at Michigan Lottery Ampitheatre
3 Doors Down and Candlebox rolled into the Metro Detroit area on June 21 to celebrate their milestones in music at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre.
It was a packed house between the pavilion and the lawn, and despite the 90-degree heat, fans were standing on the barricade, ready to hear the hits.

Candlebox always puts on an amazing performance, but that road is, unfortunately, coming to an end. On August 25, their fifth and final album, titled ‘The Long Goodbye’ will be released, following their live album ‘Live at The Neptune,’ which is out June 23.
The band ripped and rocked through their 1993 hits off their self-titled album, and I’ve always admired how hard they go, even with their most mellow tracks. The Seattle-bred 90’s boom birthed Candlebox into the scene, and songs like “You” still charge the crowd after 30 years. In fact, when “Far Behind” began, the roar was so audible, you could hear it in the VIP auxiliary pavilion away from the stage.
The band has had such a legacy and has still been able to perform for us after all these years. Though we’re sad to see them go, they’ve had a hell of a run. Check out the full setlist here (with the exception of the track “What Do You Need?”). Catch the tour on their other dates by checking out candleboxrocks.com/tour.

Celebrating their sophomore album ‘Away From The Sun,’ 3 Doors Down commanded the crowd with their banger-after-banger setlist. They played the album in its entirety (as well as their greatest hits), and they sound 100% like their studio recordings – a difficult feat for many live performers.
According to a press release, this album meant a lot to the band:
“Away From The Sun has always been a personal favorite of mine because of how much it resonated with our country’s service members,” shares 3 Doors Down’s Brad Arnold. “We are so blessed to be able to celebrate these significant milestones because we were very young making these albums, and we still have so much more life to give our fans.”
The band has a lot of patriotic vibes, including installing a flagpole on stage, as well as American Flags donning guitar straps and tee shirts. They also took a moment to speak to the crowd about Jesus.
Their set was so solid, we had to put on ‘Away From The Sun’ on the way home and belt it out after the sun had set, yet another wonderful Michigan Summer Concert.
Check out the full setlist here (with the exception of “Pop Song” as the first track). Catch their tour on other dates by visiting 3doorsdown.com.
