Reneé Rapp Heats up Michigan Lottery for ‘Bite Me’ Tour
Reneé Rapp brought her ‘Bite Me’ tour, named after her newest album, to Michigan Lottery Ampitheatre on Saturday, September 27 with special guest Syd, and it was a night for the girls, gays, and they’s!
SYD
We’ll admit — this is our first-time exposure to Syd, but she held her own. Self-described on her Instagram as “engineer turned producer turned dj turned artist,” Syd shared with the crowd that we were going to have a very gay evening. While performing her setlist (which, unfortunately, we couldn’t find online), she set the tone for vibes and creativity. She also took a moment to shout out her wife in the photo pit, who was creating all her visuals for her performances.
RENEÉ RAPP
I’ve seen Reneé Rapp once before at GovBall 2024, and so I was stoked to have another opportunity to capture images for ACRONYM ZINE this time around. Rapp started atop a lofted pole that belted her in so she could drop-in from the top of the stage behind a red curtain. A set of interviews played on the screen before her descent, which led right into “Leave Me Alone,” one of the top bangers off her latest album ‘Bite Me.’
“Kiss It Kiss It” and “Talk Too Much” were the next tracks on the setlist, and Reneé made sure to leave no stone unturned when it came to her stage presence, vocal execution, and feminine prowess. As far as her sexuality is concerned, Reneé initially came out as bisexual, but as time has passed, she has now definitively defined herself as a lesbian. Lately, there have been quite a few people who have decided to question that openly, but Reneé has even gone as far as to post on Twitter (we’re never gonna call it X, get used to it) the following:
if I say I’m a lesbian I am a lesbian and if someone says they’re bi they are bi I’ve had enough of you witches

This information significantly influences the fanbase and design of her music and lyrics, as many of her songs explore themes of love, sex, and heartbreak within the queer community. Rapp played 20 songs total in her set, including the majority of the ‘Bite Me’ album, as well as some of her stand-out tracks like “Tummy Hurts,” “Snow Angel,” before ending the set with her ‘Bite Me’ track “At Least I’m Hot.”
