PHOTOS: We The People Dissent U.S. and Canadian Protest
On March 22, 2025, a crowd anywhere from 600 to over 1,000 people flocked to Hart Plaza and across the Detroit River in Canada to protest Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Fascism, Oligarchy, and more.
Signs ranged from topics like DEI, ICE/Deportations, Speaking up for Democracy, general displeasure of the current administration, and even some clever ones like a photo of Whoopi Goldberg with the caption “America, you in danger girl” a la 1990’s ‘Ghost.’
Multiple friends of the ‘We The People Dissent’ group spoke to to the crowd on various topics such as what we’re up against, how to foster community, Women’s Rights (a guy gave this speech, which was AWESOME), and even someone admitting that they used to be someone who “didn’t pay attention to politics much” before this all changed their outlook.
In addition to this, they let everyone know that there will be a walking protest on April 5 leaving from the DIA and marching down Woodward. Once that information becomes available, we will list it on our “Make Your Voice Heard” landing page.
