MUSIC DISCOVERY: Drey Skonie & The Klouds Band
Friday at Saint Andrew’s Hall, Mac Saturn played to a sold-out audience. Accompanying them is today’s Music Discovery, Drey Skonie & The Klouds Band!
The vibe was undeniable as we saw members of The Klouds Band accompany Drey Skonie upstairs, wearing varsity-style jackets to confirm the crew. Hailing from Detroit, Drey Skonie hit the stage with a walking stick and an intense amount of swagger. Playing off that hometown vibe, the Motown-adjacent sound mixed with a sax player caused fans to take notice as the group warmed us up for the main event.

Drey Skonie & The Klouds Band played tracks from Skonie’s catalog including “Rolling Skone” and “Better Days,” and definitely made some new fans off their vibes. After the show, the group was mingling around The Shelter, the downstairs venue of Saint Andrew’s Hall. I had a moment to congratulate Skonie for the killer performance, and he was nothing but kind.
Viewing Drey on Spotify, he’s done some dope collaborations which include “…Spend The Day” with Obie Trice, a few tracks with Nick Speed, his 2020 single “Bad For Me” with Ametria Peridot, and “Gotta Get it” with Murda Pain and Sino.
We certainly hope to catch everyone in the city again sometime soon, but until then, be sure to follow Drey Skonie and The Klouds Band on their Instagram accounts.
